    1. Re: [AL-CEN] 1910/ Jefferson or Blount Counties? / Florence
    2. Linda Murray
    3. Liz, I don't find Hiram Manch indexed in 1910, and according to the 1920 and 30 census, his first child was born in 1915, so he was most likely still at home in 1910 and wouldn't have been indexed as head of household. I sent you the 1920 census information for this family on December 30th of last year, and the 1930 on February 7th. Did you ever order his death certificate which should give the names of his parents? 3. Mary, This might help to narrow down the county. I pulled by Alexander. No Jourdan, or Jorden, but here is all the Alexander Jordan's listed as head of the household on Godfrey.org (Heritage Quest). If no one repiies if you can narrow them down I will look them up later. 1860 none, 1870-1920, except 1880 and you can access that at familiysearch.org 1930 is not indexed. The earlier 1800's are but nothing came up. 3. Would you please look for David Cutchen/Cutchens/Kutchen/Cutchin (take your pick!) in 1870? He's probably in Henry County but I wasn't sure. If he's not in Henry, he's got to be in Dale County. Wife is Milly. David born 1810/SC. Thanks! 3. Thanks for reply, I am researching a Frances "Fannie" Echols. She was born in Cherokee County Alabama in November of 1861 as a slave child. I am told she was owned by a families with last name of Hamilton and Echols (or Eccles, Eakles, etc.). I believe after emancipation her family took name of Echols. Her mother was Caroline born about 1834 and father was named James. According to an 1880 census of Floyd Cty. Georgia, Caroline (the mother) was widowed. So I assume James passed away around 1871 or 1872. Thanks for any help at all. Because both years are indexed by head-of-household and don't list names of other household members, I only checked the 15 or so Coxes indexed as enumerated in 1910 St. Clair. 1910 St. Clair County, Alabama - Precinct 1, Ashville - May 8, 1910 - ED 113/Sheet 9B Old Georgia Road 162 - Cox, Richard C., head; M W 37 Md 1/16 years; AL GA SC; farmer/general farm Joicy, wife; F W 34 Md 1/16 years; 8 children/7 living; AL AL AL; farm labor/home farm Ethel, dau; F W 14 S; born AL; farm labor/home farm Esme?, dau; F W 12 S; born AL; farm labor/home farm Manly, son; M W 8 S; born AL Bratley, son; m W 6 S; born AL John B., son; M W 4 S; born AL Leyvette, son; M W 2 S; born AL Hazel, dau; F W 11 mo S; born AL Of course, the request limit is one at a time, but because the names of Esme and Leyvette weren't clear, I also checked 1920 to see if that year was clearer. 3. There are still no Ganow or Ganos indexed in 1850 Alabama. Ancestry indexes a WM Garron on page 39 of Mobile County, but there is no page 39. Neither the 1850 census at Genealogy.com nor the AIS has anything shown for a WM Garron, so I don't know where that entry at Ancestry may have come from. Image is not linked, and probably because there is no such page number. Sorry. 1. [AL-CEN] Re: 1930 / Jefferson Co AL / Partin
    2. Dear Linda, Could you please do a lookup for both Steel Partin and his son, also named Steele Partin, on the 1930 Jefferson Co Census??? The father was age 35 in 1920 and the son was age 8, so they should be 45 and 18 in 1930. In 1920 the son was living with his mother, Mrytle C. Norwood Partin, who was divorced from Steel the father. I am wondering if the father and son got back together by 1930. Thanks for any help. Joy

    3. Clayton, The closest I can find is a Marliny C. Cox, born 1928, s/o Manley & Della, in 1930 St. Clair County. I don't find any Richard, M. or M. R. Cox near the right age. Is this Marliny C. Cox a possibility, or totally out of the ballpark?
