Looking for any/all information on the Calvin Cassell family. He must have died before 1880. In 1880 his wife, Annie S., had remarried to Washington A. Devaney. Her name was Annie S. Amerson Children were Mary Lori Cassell Francis J. Cassell In the 1880 Census there is listed a 3rd child and I am unsure if she was a Cassell or Devaney. Her name is listed as Martha E. Devaney. But the other 2 girls are also listed as Devaney's on the 1880 Census. Believe there were 2 other girls born after the 1880 census. Fayenettie Josephine "Nettie" Devaney, born Nov. 9, 1880 and Sarah Magaline "Maggie" Devaney, born 1881. Think this Annie S. Kathy, I don't find him in either Henry or Houston as Bob, Robert, Emmett, or RE. There's a Robert Cutchens indexed in Barbour, born 1917, a Robert Cutchin in Mobile, born 1916, and an Emmett Cutchen, born 1915 in Barbour. None of those look promising, but is all I could find indexed in 1930 Alabama. Sorry I wasn't able to help. If he is a grandson of Lucy Simmons, then he is likely the son of Lucy's daughter (or daughter-in-law??), Sarah/Sally. I think perhaps John Tyler Franklin and perhaps Washington may belong to Sarah also. I hope this helps. Tammy, This needs a lot more investigation, but I (personally) think that John Tyler Franklin may be the same person in the household of Lucy Simmons in the 1850 and 1860 census. In 1850 he was listed in the census as John, age 10, and in 1860, he was called Tylor, age 20. In neither census year was he named as Franklin, but perhaps didn't begin using his father's name until he married and had a need to give his legal name. If indeed, he is the same person shown as age 25 in 1870, he was shown in the 1860 census as Indian. I am sure you noticed that in the 1870 census, both Lucy and JT's son, William, were enumerated as Indian, but JT was not. Benjamin Franklin in 1850 Coosa County had a son named John whose age is a better match. He was 5 on the 1850 census, so would have been 25 in 1870 Linda in Georgia ----- Original Message ----- From: "David & Tammy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 09, 2004 9:50 AM Subject: [AL-CEN] Franklin's /Simmon's Coosa County > I have a big puzzle. > In the 1870 Coosa county Alabama census there is a J.T.
