He is my dead-end. I have not been able to find anything except that I finally did get his wife's name on Joe's second marriage certificate. On documents for Joe, he listed his father's birthplace as Ireland, Kentucky, and Alabama. On the marriage certificate for Joe to his second wife, he lists his father's name as Kentucky Rice and his mother as Mary Gladen or Gladson or Gladsen. It is hard to read. 3. Charlotte, There are too many Thomas and Mary Rices indexed in 1900 Alabama for me to check all to see if any have a son named Joe who was born in 1874. I did check all the Tom and Thomas Rices who I thought were old enough to have a son of that age, but none had a wife named Mary. What else do you know about Thomas Rice? Approximate age, race, and place of birth might help me narrow the field.
