Looking for search for John A. Henley and Bessie M. Henley(Sims) Both deceased. I believe that they were married in Mobile County in 1930. I want to find the father and mother of John Henley, and fill in the tree. I believe that John Henley may not have been born in Mobile County, but in a county west of Mobile. Gene Henley
Looking for JOHN M. MANNING (b.Mar 1849 AL). Not much is known about this family except his father was born in ALABAMA and his mother was born in GEORGIA. It is also known that he had another brother born est 1843 in Alabama. There are no doubt more children listed in the 1850 census and this is the reason for this request (i.e. to help establish the father/mother and siblings of JOHN M. MANNING (1yr old son). Any help, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David
CJ, As Jennifer stated in her 1860 South Carolina lookup for this family, they were in Mississippi during the 1850 enumeration also. For that reason, I am cross-posting this transcription to the MS-lookup list for inclusion in the correct archives: 1850 Winston County, Mississippi - September 24, 1850 - Roll M432_382/page 350 508 - William H. Ferguson, age 38; farmer; born GA Elizabeth, age 40; born SC James, age 19; farmer; born AL William, age 12; born AL Eugenia, age 8; born AL; attended school within the year Cornelia, age 6; born AL Marion, age 4; born MS Angaline, age 1; born MS From the above, it appears that this family moved from Alabama to Mississippi about 1845, and this is most likely the correct family indexed in 1840 Alabama. I am also posting this transcription to the AL-lookup list for inclusion in their archives: 1840 Autauga County, Alabama - No Township Given - Roll 1/page 12 W. H. Fergasten - 21001 - 000001 (2 free white males under age 5, 1 aged 5-10, 1 aged 20-30 - 1 free white female aged 30-40) Unfortunately, there were no other Fergasons indexed in 1840 Autauga County, so I have no suggestions for finding the parents of William in earlier census. He, being born ca 1812, would have likely appeared as a number in the 15-20 age category in a Fergason household in either Alabama or Georgia in the 1830 census. There are 19 Ferguson heads of household indexed in 1830 Georgia and 14 in 1830 Alabama. Any (or all) of those may contain unnamed free white males aged 15-20. Sorry. Good luck! Pris, I'm going to assume that this request is answered unless you have doubts. Robert's father is shown as born in Ireland in the 1850 record which I posted. That's close enough for me. Based on the 1860 and the children's ages, I suspect an 1854 marriage is about right. Lee Ann's birthyear bounces around in the census record. The 1850 would indicate 1836, the 1880 shows 1834 and the 1860 says 1840. Again, that's close enough I think. If you disagree, then we'll look some more. Hello, This information came mostly from an obituary. Lois Richardson, was born June 24, 1921 in Leggtown, AL. She was the daughter of James Floyd Richardson who married Mary Ruth Phelps. They are white. Since Lois was born in AL, I assumed they lived in AL, but perhaps that is a wrong assumption. Will have to do further checking on this. Know she had relatives in TN. Thank you for checking the 1920 AL census for me. Joy In a message dated 5/30/2005 7:02:24 A.M. (I do not know which county Legstown is in, but would like to.) Not sure if they had children at this time, but would like to know the names of everyone in the household. Thanks for your help. Joy

What I have is Robert Cunningham Kerr x Lee Ann Mann (born 1838, died 1919). I have a marriage date of 10 Jan., 1854, but that may be wrong. Lee Ann is half Cherokee Indian, if that would make any differnece. Robert's father was born in Scotland we think. Any help is appreciated very much. These Carrs are elusive---maybe its that horse thief in the family. Thanks. LeeAnn (even at age 14) marrying a 31 year-old man just didn't make any sense for me, but I am also sure this is the right couple. Maybe they married later than 1850, and maybe she was 14 instead of 10 that year, and maybe Pris will tell us which census year she needed soon. Apologies for the typo in the subject line "Montgomery". It's just been one of those days. ----- Original Message ----- From: wmcconne@bellsouth.net To: AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 11:09 AM Subject: Re: [AL-CEN] 1850? 1860?/Mongtomery?/KERR Actually, I think that is her Robert and Lee Ann in 1860. I can't locate them in 1870 which is probably the record that she is searching for. I think it's just another case of the 1870 being somewhat incomplete. Found a Robert Car with a female in his household in 1860 Montgomery County whose initials are L. A. Fits your request, but can't be the Robert Kerr who married Leann Mann in 1850 because this L. A. Car's age in 1860 was given as 20, which would have made her only 10 in the 1850 census. > > What else do you know that might help someone find this family? Hmmmm. . . . you may be right, but the relationship was shown as "grandmother" (to the head of household), so I was wondering which of her daughters (if she had any) married a Murray instead of which of her children had a daughter named Fletcher. One answer always leads to more questions. Good luck! ----- Original Message ----- From: Kathy36110@wmconnect.com To: AL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 11:08 AM Subject: Re: [AL-CEN] 1900/Russell/FENN In a message dated 5/30/2005 7:28:04 AM Central Daylight Time, lhmurray@bellsouth.net writes: > 1900 Russell County, Alabama - Precinct 1 - Girard - June 6 & 7, 1900 - > page 34A & B > 173 - Murry, W.
