Requesting a lookup from the 1920 Federal Census, Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL. for the household of Willard BEARDEN. His wife's madien name was Adel Briton (sic?). In particular, looking for their son, Raymond Willard BEARDEN, b. Sept. 01, 1922 as well as the rest of their household. Don't have an index to give you the pg. # for Willard's household. Thank you in advance for your help with this lookup request! Jack (in TX.)
In the following census all are listed as black. I can't really decipher Julia's occupation. I thought it was "laundry" followed by another word but the word "laundress" appears twice on that page and it doesn't look much like the first word in Julia's occupation. The children are all shown "at school" and Julia is shown as owning her home. 1900 Montgomery Co, AL, 4th ward, page 176 Julia Jones 37 TN TN LA widow, 6 kids, 5 living Genieva (dau) 17 AL AL TN Cecil (son) 13 AL AL TN Maud (dau) 12 AL AL TN Leo (son) 10 AL AL TN Lenard (son) 7 AL AL TN Martin Brown (nephew) 13 AL AL TN Mary Huggins (mother) 55 AL LA VA widow, 2 kids, 1 living Melissa Parker wrote: > That's her, thank you so much for your help. 1830 Marion Co, AL, page Elijah Stanford: one male less than 5 one male 5 to 10 one male 15 to 20 one male 20 to 30 one female less than 5 one female 20 to 30 In comparing this to the 1840, it appears that the oldest male in the 1840 record is not Elijah - maybe his father, other relative or boarder. jcl wrote: > Linda, > > I can't thank you enough. Joe, There are no Robert Duke or Dukes indexed in 1870 Perry County, but four in other Alabama counties. How would I know which, if any of those, are the one you need? What else do you know about him? Approximate age, race, place of birth, name of wife, or any known children, might help. Robert is listed in the 1870 and 1880 census of Randolph Co, AL with his mother. I am unsure of his mother's name (she is shown as "Mth" in 1870 and "Mih" in 1880). She was probably not married to Robert's father in 1850 since Robert seems to be an only child born 1860-1861. I think your best bet would be to get Robert's death certificate and hope that his parents names are listed. What appears to be his death certificate is in Randolph county, volume 46, roll 3, #22716 (month of death Oct 1935). Hello, I'm trying to find the parents of Robert McKenzie Ferguson, or any variation of the spelling of that name. I know he was born in Sept. 1860, and it might have been in Randolph or Clay Co. Al., but I do know he was born in Al. His parents were born in Ga. I found him listed on the 1900 census living in Almond, either Randolph or Clay Co. Al. He married a Frances May. I am desperately trying to find who his parents were. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Becky Carden
