Hello listers, Did someone say roll call? We are looking for information on two brothers that came from Sweden to Dawson, Alaska. Carl Leonard Carlson and Axel Gottfrid Carlson. Carl in coming to Dawson in the early days began mining on Poverty Bar in 1901 and later worked in partnership with Andrew Swanson on Hunker Creek. In later years he prospected in the Chandalar District. At the time of his death he was a U.S. Commissioner and post master at Chandalar. He died June 24, 1944 in Fairbanks and is buried in Birch Hill Cemetery in the pioneer section. We are currently awaiting the arrival for the death certificate of Axel to verify that this is Carls brother. Axel is also buried in Birch Hill Cemetery in the pioneer section. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/3377/ Thank you, Kim
