Hi Angie, I like to read the Akin letters because I am trying to research Thomas Akin Sr b ca 1710-1714 in Mecklinburg Co VA. married ca 1735 to ( heres my problem). Thomas died in 1810 Oglethorpe Co GA. Children were: Francis?a lunatic., Joseph, Jacob, Thomas Jr, Peggy Floyd (dau?), Nancy Wilder(dau). I have talked with another Akin researcher about the spouse of Thomas. There is a lot of confusion on my part. I have Thomas married to Elizabeth Goode, dau of Joseph Goode(1699-1764) of Henrico Co VA. The lady I spoke with has him married to Avis Rudd ( ca 1740- ) dau of Joseph Rudd and wife Susannah. There is a will in Mecklinberg Co VA identifying Avis as the wife of Thomas Akin who went to GA. I had thought that Thomas Jr was the husband of Avis but perhaps not. Like I said one Thomas d. in Ga in 1810, another Thomas died in 1832 GA. I sure don't know which is the correct spouse. Thanks for listening. Ann Wise
