    1. Re: [AKINS-L] Francis Mann inventories

    3. Again, Page MANN probably was trying to distribute the life estate property/money of Mary MANN after her death to the children of Francis Mann, Jr.'s first wife. This would hold true if you suscribe to the theory that Mary was really Lewis AKINS' mother....thus making Mary the second wife...or possibly even the 3rd. Let's suppose that Mary Mann was not the mother of any of the Francis MANN children??? Think about it....1/3 of the father's estate went to his last wife....the step-mother....and for 20 years his children had to do without what they thought was their rightful claim in favor of this step-mother. These children probably told Page MANN not to distribute anything to Mary's children...their step-brothers/sisters....even though these step-children would have a lawful share upon Mary's death...particularly if she died without a Will...which would make it all go to them....leaving out completely Francis MANN's children. The MANNs were socially above the AKINS as they were related to the PAGEs, RANDOLPHs & BURWELLs of VA including George Washington & Thomas Jefferson. Thus, the MANNs probably did feel that they were more entitled to that 1/3 of their father's estate and that it shouldn't all go to the AKINs. Remember...it was Mann PAGE that was the attorney involved while one of Francis MANN's sons was named Page MANN who I believe was the one that served as Co-Executor of Mary MANN's Life Estate Distribution. They were 2 different people. CAT CAT PATRICK GUDAITIS wrote: > As previously stated, there were two inventories for the Estate of > Francis Mann. I will post them as time allows.
