Just saw the post on these subjects. My history has the following; James Akin Sr. ca 1734 MD married ??? children ; 1. Samuel Akin ca 1754 2. William Akin, sr ca 1756 MD marr, Elizabeth McCorkle 3. John ca 1760 4. Rachel ca 1762 5.James Jr. ca 1764 6. Peter ca 1766 Mecklinburg NC 7. Agnes ca 1770 Mecklinburg, NC 8 Thomas 1775 Peter had a son John Hill Akin born 1781 in York Co, SC who married Nancy Powell. Also a daughter unknown to me. Could this be the one you are researching.
