    1. Re: [AKINS-L] Lizzie Akins/ Henry Brown
    2. Hi, Claudia-- Here is a possible lead: Lizzie Akins married Henry Brown. I don't have a date or place, but her brother, Stephen Akins married 30 March 1870, Statesboro, Bulloch Cnty, Ga, Mary Ann Bennett; and other siblings were married in that decade and county. I have no way of knowing if this was your family. Lizzie is identified as a daughter of John Akins, who married (1) Mary Crumpton and (2) Jane Deal. My source says some of the children could be by the first wife. John Akins was a son of Lewis Aikins and Mary Stanford. He was born 1814. Lewis Aikins was born 25 Nov 1789, Laurens Cnty SC; he died 7 Aug 1865 in Bullch Cnty, GA, and was buried at Lake Church, near Statesbaoro, GA; he married 17 Oct 1810 Mary Stanford, who was born 20 Feb 1794 in GA, died 12 Apr 1853 in Bulloch Cnty and buried as her husband. She was a daughter of John and Rachel Stanford. Lewis Aikins was a son of Francis Aikins and Martha ___. Francis was born 1767 NC and died 1833 Lowndes Cnty, GA. He was an ordained deacon and was baptized 19 Mar 1827, Union Primitive Baptist Church, Lanier Cnty, NC. He married Martha ___ who was born c1767 Bulloch Cnty, d c 1845 Lowndes Cnty, GA. Lewis Aikins was a son of Lewis Akins, b c 1735 NC, d c1791 in Laurens Cnty, SC; m Elizabeth Mann, b c1739 NC, d 1791 Laurens Cnty, SC. Lewis' will was dated 16 Jul 1791, Will book A, page 4012. My source for this information, which I cannot confirm, is from AKIN ANCESTORS, a compilation from the newsletter of that title edited by Angie Streczelski, 524 E Seminole Avenue, McAlester OK 74501.
