Hi all - As I'm still without a clue, I was hoping somebody might have an idea. My Mary Akin (Akins, etc) was born in SC in 1798. Since there were a lot of Akins around SC, could she have been a sister of Lewis Akins or Lewis Aikins? I noticed the reference to him being an active Deacon in the Baptist Church; Mary's husband, John Chastain, came from a long line of Baptist preachers. Does anyone know how to get information about early churches and ministers? I would think that there would be fairly good records from these churches. Diane Bingham
