Yes, there was an area in North Carolina that was once known as Walton Co., GA. It was an abandoned strip of land in the French Broad River Valley area near Brevard, NC in now known Transylvania Co., NC. It only existed 1803 -1811, but they did elect officials. One of the representatives to the GA State Legislature was: John AIKENS. He would have had to have been born probably before 1780 at least. Does anyone know who he was????
