I'm new to the list so I thought I would add to the lost families. The parents of SHANNON AKIN [Aiken] are lost to me. Shannon was born in Kentucky on Feb 28, 1813. He went to Morgan county, Missouri in the early 1830's as a Baptist minister. He married Kittturah Durnang [also of Kentucky] after arriving in MO. Their children, born between the years 1837-1856 in Morgan county, MO are; Sarah, Garland, Elizabeth, Katherine, John, Nancy, Alfred, Mary, Porter, Russell. I have been looking into the GARLAND AKIN line of Russell , Greene, and Cumberland counties of Kentucky to see if there is a connection. Thanks, Barb Kuper
