I have never gotten the Shearer/Akers book. I've only seen records referring to it. You can request the film from Family History Center (LDS). I believe the film is #1036050. You can also order the book from Higginson Book Company, P.O. Box 778, Salem, MA 01970, or email higginsn@cove.com for about $25. There are two other books on Akers genealogies, both can be purchased or films ordered from FHC: Akers Family of Franklin Co., VA, by AE Akers Our Kinsfolk (descendants of Wm. Akers of NJ @1698) by WR Akers. FHC film #1697554 is another one I have listed but not viewed. "Genealogy of Wm. Tobias Phillips" is suppose to have 14 generations of Akers from 1653-1989. Perhaps someone from the list can recommend one of the above as being more accurate than the other two/three. I would like to share info with you on your line, particularly the Hart line if you're willing.
