Greetings, If some of you get this twice I apologize. I have been saving notes from folks that mention similar names or locations to our Akers. Some of you have mentioned not being a part of the "Rootsweb West" list and I did not want to miss you! I am looking for any input on the following information. We have traced my wife's line back to Floyd Akers born in Floyd (Franklin ?) County, VA. Her line descends as follows: Floyd Akers (b. 1826) and Elizabeth Reed to Landon Akers (b. 1854) and Laura Jane Spencer to Clarinda Akers (b. 1902) and Paul Arthur West. My wife is the grandaughter of Clarinda. Our dilemma now is Floyd's parents. We suspect Floyd's father was Henry, (b.abt.1795) in Dillons Mill, Franklin County, VA. This is based solely on an 1830 census record for Henry that lists a child in his home under 5 years of age. I am speculating this is our Floyd (b. 1826).
