Greetings: I am searching for any information on the parents of Robert S. Aker. (According to one family memeber, his middle name could also have been Edward. I believe he was born in Wythe Co.,Va in Mar of 1842 and died after 1912. Robert served with the 51st Va. Infantry during the civil war and was captured and sent to Ft. Delaware, (Lookout Point,MD.) Following the war, Robert married Lucinda S. Jackson on Sept 13, 1866 in Wythe County,Va. They had two daughters that we know of before she died. Margaret J. Aker and Sallie F. Aker. We believe Robert’s father was William David AKERS, Sr. born abt 1810 in Virginia, according to the 1850 Census. Robert went on to marry twice more.......Matilda Jane CARRICO 10 Aug 1881, and to Martha A. CARRICO on 20 Jan 1886 in Grayson Co,Va. His residence at one time was in the Elkcreek Township.
