Has anybody found the parents for this couple? John Akers, b. @1825 in Montgomery Co VA. He was 26-yo in 1850, 35-yo in 1860, 47-yo in 1870. On 8 Apr 1848 in Floyd Co VA he married Celia Reed, b. @ 1824 in Floyd Co VA. 26-yo in 1850, 36-yo in 1860, 48-yo in 1870. Their children were: 1) Eveline, b. abt 1849 in Floyd Co VA. She married Edmondson Akers, b.@ 1846 in Montgomery Co VA, s/o James A. "Little Jim" Akers and Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Reed, on 28 Nov 1867 in Floyd Co VA; 2) Irene Emily "Mina", b. 24 Sep 1851 in Floyd Co VA. She married Ira Jefferson Boyd, son of Newberry T. Boyd and Martha J. Leffew, on 29 Dec 1870 in Floyd Co VA; 3) Eli G., b. @ 1853 in VA. He married Elizabeth ? ; 4) William Jackson "Jack", b. 3 Oct 1856 in VA. He married first a woman whose first name began with an "R. After her death he married second Emmezetta "Zettie" Cox, b. @ 1866 in Floyd Co VA, daughter of Armpstead "Amp" Cox and Margaret Jennings, on 4 Oct 1885 in Floyd Co VA. A study of the censuses of Floyd Co VA is annotated "gone to IL" after Zettie's name. When, or who accompanied her, is not known. 5) Peradine, b. @ Sep 1859 in Floyd Co VA.I don't have any further information about her, possibly she died young. Hi Earl I was raised in NE KY and I am related to some AKERS that lived in this area. I tried to connect to the names you gave but was not able to do this. I was raised with EDWARD GAIL AKERS and we were separated during WWII. Gail lived and died in the NW USA He had three sons named JEFFERY CABOT AKERS, RICHARD HOWARD AKERS and BRIAN ANTHONY AKERS. I at one time located RICHARD HOWARD AKERS but lost him. Does any of this mean any thing to you??
