Donna and all, My granfather always told us we were "Holland-Dutch" and his father as well as his father's father was born in Pa. (George Franklin and Geo. Washington Akers) It was also said that they came from a Quaker Colony. Now, I haven't had much luck back beyond that. But, just to address the issue of AW-KERS...I think you have it right, at least where MY line is concerned. I have a suspicion that my Akers line goes back to the NJ Immigrant...proving it?
