    3. Yes, I agree! I assume you are referring to the 1820 and 1830 Federal census which only lists the head of the household and only lists the ages of other males and females within the household. I have not checked these census records records myself, but I will look again. I have also read the pension application of William the veteran. At the end, it mentions a "Mr. Wm. Bartree, a relative to the heirs of Akers". Any idea who this guy is and if he can substantiate William the veteran being the father of William (1776-1850)? Yes, William's RevWar pension states his daughter Alice primarily cared for him. I believe this is Else or Elsie who married Bartle Bartleson. It appears that William is living in the Bartleson households in 1820 & 1830. From other records, Alice appears to be the Americanization (for lack of a better term) of the name Else or Alce. William's sister, Alce (m. John Abbott), uses the name Alice in her widow's pension file for John Abbott. It looks like this file also includes a transcription of the family Bible register: The ages of Jhn Akers Senr and his family - John Akers Sr 2 Jan 1713 2 Nov 1783 Martha 10 Sep 1718 29 Dec 1808 abot 3 oclock in the morning Susanna 29 Nov 1734 4 Feb 1812 William 7 Sep 1736 Mary 27 Oct 1738 18 Jan 1739 Thos 20 Jan 1740 9 Nov 1830 Obadiah 28 Dec 1743 26 Jun 1780 John 20 Feb 1744 Lost on Long Island 27 Aug 1776 Mary 9 Mar 1747 30 Aug 1768 Jonathan 10 Jun 1749 21 Jun 1750 Ruth 23 Aug 1751 3 Feb 1780 Martha 7 Sep 1753 31 Mar 1758 Alce 31 Jul 1755 Jonathan 29 May 1757 11 Dec 1827 Daniel 27 Jun 1760 14 Jan 1780 My information doesn't list any sister for William (1776-1850) named Alice. Any thoughts on this? Yes, William (1776-1850) had sister Alce who was also known as Alice. This would be the same Alce/Alice who m. Bartleson above. Do you agree?
