I don't have any more information on Asahel. I wish I could tell you differently. If and when I do find information, I will surely post it. I did find a RWS pension file - George White who I believe is the father of David White (son Ira married Nancy Akers (my line)). Anyway, in the file George had listed him as Kaal Akers. I researched that name and found - nothing. I just sent in for a consultation to ProGenealogists on Asahel Akers. I can't afford anything more.
