    3. Karen - Thank you for the website. I'm really not sure now if the Evoney/Exoney/Oney Akers I found on the census with Fleming and Nancy is the right one. According to Earl's site, and a couple of others, this particular gal married a George Connor, but, at the same time, it says this particular man died in 1881, so, it's entirely possible that she remarried, only problem with that theory is that in 1900, William Compton and Oney have a daughter Minnie who was born in 1878. I checked for George in 1880 thinking perhaps Minnie was the child of that marriage, no such luck, I'm really beginning to think I've got the wrong parents here. To add to it, I can't find Minnie, or her parents in 1880, anywhere, which is really strange since I can find them in 1900 and 1910 in Tazewell County VA, where Williams family is from. I get the feeling that I'm going to have to tell my friend that we are going to have to get either Oney's obit. or death record from VA. You wouldn't happen to know a kind soul in Tazewell County who would be willing to go digging for either for her, do you? Any advice or determination that I have the wrong parents is more than welcome! Take care - Deb -------Original Message------- From: Kmathis444@aol.com Sent: 04/03/03 07:11 PM To: AKERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Evoney (Oney) Charlotte AKERS > > I'm rushed for time right now, but Creed Akers was my great grandfather. I will try to write back soon with more details. But Creed and his wife Martha lived in West Virginia...not sure when they came here...One of their sons (Daniel Boone Akers) was my grandfather...a dentist. Anyway, I worked on my family tree a few years ago and have put most of the information away. I will try to get it all out this weekend and write you with more details. This is very interesting!!!! You can visit Earl Akers's site and get a lot of information. Give me your email address and I'll send you the web address of his information. Hoping to talk with you later.
