    3. Hi~ I meant to look this up for a long time, and finally did today. I found two listings for Ackers, no Akers. Jacob Acker is from what I read in the deed itself actually named "Ackler", He sold a piece of land in Mindon, which is now part of Monroe co. It was part of the military tract, but not a grant to Jacob. The second and best is the deed in which Jesse Akers, "Acker" in the index but not in the deed itself, and his wife Martha sell a piece of property in Hector, Seneca Co. (today in Schuyler Co.) on Nov. 3, 1815, to Dennis Turner of Dutchess Co. for $600. In the deed there is no mention of where or when they got the land, nor where they live. There are also no earlier deeds in which they show up; this is it. The deeds begin in 1804. The lot in question is no. 28, in the town of Hector. The only interesting clue that I saw was that one of the markers given for the measuring off of the piece of land was an "ironwood" marked "1809". This was in Liber I, p. 234. Craig, if you're still pursuing this, I hope that this isn't just repetition? If so, I hope that it finds you well.~Joni
