Mary Magdaline Robbins PUBLISHED: July 13, 2004 Mary Magdaline (Armstrong) Robbins, 80, a resident of Warren for 17 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, July 10, 2004, at the Arnold Home Hospice Residence in Detroit, Michigan. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Banner, Wise Co., Virginia and moved to Detroit in 1946. Mrs. Robbins, a homemaker, was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing quilts and clothes, and taking long walks. Relatives described her as a devoted Christian woman who had the warmest and most sincere personality. She is survived by her children, Gladys Mae Followell, Joyce Ellen (Ray) Tomlinson and Esther Hope (Edward) Kissel; and grandchildren, Larry (Dianna) Hewitt, Robert Hewitt, Dorthy (Valmon) Bailey, Thomas (Vanessa) Hewitt, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Hewitt, Lisa Joy (Doug) Tyson, Rhonda Ann (Walter) Galat, Joshua Robert Ladensack, Timothy Tomlinson, Joseph Anthony Polisena and Michael Brian Polisena. She was predeceased by her parents; Andrew Edward Armstrong and Ollie Mae Akers; eight brothers and three sisters, and husband, John David Robbins, Jr., on July 25, 1994. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at SK Schultz Funeral Home, 21705 Gratiot (at Toepfer), Eastpointe, with the Rev. Dave Anderson of Faith Baptist Church in Warren officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today.
