Akers in New York State NOTE: This is information that I have gathered online and elsewhere from all of you. For those of you interested in the German or Dutch Ackers line there is a bunch of information at the Latter Days Saints on microfiche. This seems to be a totally different line so I do not have much of it in my files. There are probably errors and misspellings as well as things that are not capitalized mostly what we are going for here is a quick database showing which Akers were in NY when. MULFORD, b. 1618, Boothyrace, South Molton, England; landed in Salem, MA, in 1636-1638, with his brother, John Mulford; owned property in East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk Co., NY in 1650; died March 1687, East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk County, NY. CHILDREN of SARAH AKERS and WILLIAM MULFORD: 1. THOMAS MULFORD, b. 1650 in East Hampton, Long Island, NY, d. 1732, East Hampton. m. 1683 to Mary Gardiner Conklin (Conkling); 8 children 2. Believe SARAH and HUGH had at least two sons, Samuel and Benjamin and perhaps Joseph Chard. 6. Mary, son Andrew, sons Daniel; 1772, adminstrators are Martha Accor of Middlesex and Daniel Acor, Jr. of the Highlands, NY If I have the correct Reuben (Akers), he was born in MA and the family moved to Pittsford, Monroe Co. NY in 1790. The son of William and Dorothy Adams Akers (Acer).
