(adjacent county, east of Hector; Ithaca is in Tompkins Co.), also called the Lake Country. Possibly all that land surrounding the Finger Lakes region was known as the "Lake Country." Interestingly enough, Phebe[6] Hart, daughter of Sarah[5] and Timothy[5] Hart (second cousins) married an Obadiah Akers, and they removed to that same Lake Country, with Timothy[5], Israel[6], Hulda[6] and her husband, and Joseph S.[6] and his wife. I know that Timothy and Israel lived near McLean, Tompkins Co. Obadiah's parents were Jonathan and Catherine (?) Akers; but I don't know what Akers Jonathan is from. Jonathan and Catherine were in Fayette Co., PA in Oct. 1824. George J. Akers b. 15 May 1799 in New Jersey; moved to Adams Co., Illinois abt 1831-1833. George J. Akers d. 15 Apr 1882. George J.
