I must have missed something. My gr-grandfather, John Riley Akers, died in 1932 at the age of 89. My grandfather, James Henry Akers, died in 1969, at age 92. My father will turn 91 in May. If I follow suit I'll be around for another thirty years or so. Longevity in the Rappahannock-Essex family may have always been there but we don't have precise birth dates for William I and William II. William III, however, lived somewhere between 90 and 94 years. And while his older brother, Blackburn Akers, Sr only lived to 69 or 70, William IV died at about age 97. The third son of William III, John, died at about 65, though that is based on an estimated birth year, too. ===== Earl B.
