Hi, There a number of descendants of Peter AKERS/ACRES/AKES (b VA) and Mary SHELTON of Owen Co, Kentucky that moved to Lawrence Co, Illinois that I have lost after the 1850 census. These seem to include: William (b 1826) and son Jasper (b1847), Rutherford (b1832), Daniel (1827), William (1821), and Eliza (1841). Two other children are Thomas and Mary Anne. June V. Phillips in her 1978 book "Akers Summers and Related Families" follows down descendants of Thomas. She also lists an Abner (died abt 1848 Owen Co) and a John also died Owen Co. Mary (Anne) Akers married William McCarty 23 Feb 1854 in Lawrence Co, IL and settled eventually in Tipton Co, Indiana. Does anyone have information on other descendants of Peter and Mary?
