I received this message today(it is in reference to my website with my family file on it): it):-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------------------ Kenneth, Can I ask you where you obtained the information that you posted on "my" Absalom Hurst? The material that I gave you last spring on Absalom is documented and accurate. First of all, he was born 15 May 1750 in Stafford County, Virgina. His parents were Thomas Hurst and Mary (unknown). He died in Wythe Co., Virginia in 1829. Elizabeth, his wife, may have been a Breedwell or a Nunn, but she was definitely NOT a McNew. There were never any McNew's in Stafford Co., or in Shenandoah Co. for that matter. The McNew's were in Washington/Russell Co. Absalom, Sr. was never in those counties. Also his son John married Mary (Molly) McCarty - NOT McCartHy. I find very little in the data that you posted on Absalom Hurst that is correct. I have also just completed some intensive research on the Hursts in Tennesee and just submitted an FGS to June Reed's Home page on Mark Hurst. His first wife was Not Letita, but Maletta Southern (a twin of Matilda Southern). There are many more errors.... I truly am dismayed to see yet more unverified and inaccurate material being circulated. Gwen Hurst Woodstock, Shenandoah Co., Virginia Virginia--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- I really enjoyed all the help and positive feedback I have received on my website this past week, so the message listed above really took me by surprise. I'm not going to defend my research, I know there are errors in it. So, please use the message listed above as an example of how NOT to respond to someone with mistakes.
