That's too bad that you don't have any AKERS in your line. Mine is full of them, and they are nice people! It was spelled interchangeably depending onwho was doing the writin' on the paperwork at the time. My great Grandfather couldn't read nor write and so he depended onothers to try to figure the spelling out. He marked everything with an "X". You might run into someoof your folks here after all. Who knows? I found some of my relatives spelled ACERS in documents in Colorado.
