First of all, William was a quaker. So I have made some effort toward locating their records which could possibly help. William initally settled in Hunterdon, N. J. ---The English kept some records known as permission to go abroad which I never located. - - Between 1538 and 1837 the church of England kept parish records covering baptism, marriages, and burials (mostly of members).-----Starting in 1837 the English government kept records of births, deaths, and marriages. A promising source which I have not investigated is the Somerset House, London England (records of marriages, deaths, and births). A very thorough study of the William Akers family in new england states was made by Michael Scott Caldwell. His website has been removed from the internet and I have lost contact with him.- - - Hope that this will keep you from having to reinvent the wheel and give you a better start.
