Tabitha, I found this on the Web, have you seen it? I have some Akers connections I would love to find out about but I saw this name and knew I had seen something when browsing the web. His name was Pose Akers. His fathers name was William. I dont know when Pose left Russell Co., but I do know he lived in Ky, and Scott County,Va., where my grandmother, Verna Akers was born. He died in Wise County, Va.in 1963. He married Elizabeth(Dolly) McLeod. His children were Jack, Hunter, Fannie, Verna and Evelyn. there were a few more children. well ,it's certainly not old news! But Im afraid i havnt enough info in my own files yet to help any... :( I will be begining the Akers side of the family soon. I will keep an eye out for Pose Akers as I work. And i will post anything i find ...
