Does anybody have the ancestry of Gabriel WOOD, b. abt 1834 in Floyd Co VA, who married Louella AKERS, b. abt 1835 in Patrick Co VA? Louella was the daughter of Fleming AKERS (son of John & Mary Anne Jeffries AKERS) and Nancy AKERS (daughter of Samuel and Sarah Highly AKERS.) One source says Gabriel descended from James WOOD, Governor of Virginia 1796-1799, who was Superintendent of Prisoners and a Brigadier General during the American revolution as well as a Presidential elector but I can't find anything that would confirm his lineage.
