Another daughter, Rachel, and a son, Thomas Akers, Jr., were born. Thomas and Priscilla Aker's daughter, Sarah Akers, grew up among a small group of English settlers in East Hampton. In 1648, in East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk County, NY, (another record says Charlestown, Suffolk Co., MA) Sarah married in East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk Co., NY, to William I. Mulford. Sarah Akers and William I. Mulford had at least five children. William I. Mulford, was born 1618 in Booythrace, South Molton, Devonshire, England. William landed in Salem, MA, USA, ca. 1638, with his brother, John Mulford. They migrated to South Hampton, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, 1643. About 1699, Hugh Chard and his wife, Sarah Mulford Chard, and Sarah's brothers, William Mulford, Jr., and Benjamin Mulford, migrated to Cape May County, NJ, attracted it is believed, by the whaling industry in the Delaware Bay. July 28, 1719, in NJ, Sarah witnessed will of her brother William. William's personal estate inventory included "203 lbs 1.1-1/2, including 'Appothocaries Drugs,' 2 pounds, made by Beelye (Beulah? Billy?) and Hugh Chard."
Hello Lois, If only it were so! I haven't found the beginning of my earliet Akers ancestor ca 1810. His name was William Akers and I believe he was born in Ohio.
