Hi, I would like information oo the descendants of Peter AKERS (b VA) and Mary SHELTON. They were married (bonds) 3 April 1813, Fayette Co, Kentucky and subsequently moved to Owen Co, Kentucky. By 1850, a number of their children had moved to Lawrence County Illinois. These seem to include: William (b 1826), Thomas (1817), Daniel (1827), William (1821), Mary (1837), and Eliza (1841). The 1978 book "Akers Summers and Related Families" by June Vore Phillips also lists an Abner (died abt 1848 Owen Co) and a John also died Owen Co. June V. Phillips follows down descendants of Thomas. Mary (Anne) Akers married William McCarty 23 Feb 1854 in Lawrence Co, IL and settled eventually in Tipton Co, Indiana. Does anyone have information on other descendants of Peter and Mary?
