Hi folks and happy Christmas! I've just joined this list as a few days ago I discovered my 2x great-grandfather (John SMART) was twice married and not just once as I had thought. His first wife was Anna Maria ACRES. They married in Bloomsbury, Middlesex on 3 June 1842. Their daughter Jane (my great-grannie) was born on July 4th of the same year. Anna Maria presumably died as John married a second time in 1847. All I know about Anna Maria ACRES is that her father was called William and that his occupation at the time of her marriage was a wheelwright. I do not know when Anna Maria was born, but the marriage certificate states that she and John (born 1814) were both of full age. Please can anybody help me with either a christening, siblings or possible mother for her, please? As a pure guess, her mother may have been called Jane (I don't know where else the name might have come from, as it was not from John's family). There is a marriage for a William AKERS and Jane DOBINSON in St. George the Martyr, Southwark 8 May 1818, which might possibly tie in. I would be most appreciative of any help, and if anyone thinks we might be related I have quite a lot of other information, but sadly none about the ACRES/AKERS as I mentioned earlier.
