She was born on November 14, 1980 in Newark, Ohio; to Robert Hamill and Mary Hoffer. Nikki was active in helping the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, being a donor, very strong willed, loved Duke basketball and she was an Ohio State Football fan. She was a great wife, mother, friend and her children were her whole world. Nikki is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Emily; parents, Bob (Laurie Tarrier) Hamill, Mary (Keith Baldwin) Barna; mother and father-in-law, Karen (Phil Rutter) Cooper; survived by many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Akers, Jr.; her beloved grandparents; and uncle. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 56 South Main Street, Thornville, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Mary E. Sandberg officiating, the burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Peoples National Bank, P O Box 787, Thornville, Ohio 43076 for a trust fund for Emily Akers.
