Heidi: I may have a connection. My g.g.grandfather, James A. Akers was born in VA Aug 15. 1835, married Sept. 15, 1866 in Sullivan Co., TN to Martha Ann Helen Owens. They lived in the Washington Co., VA area until 1885. They relocated to MO where both lived until their deaths. I do not know the names of James' parents.
