Both "Our Kin", and the Shearer-Akers Gennys are incorrect as to his ancestry. Robert Akers of NJ married Sarah[4] Hart,: they removed to Loudon Co., VA briefly, before removing further to Bedford County, PA. I've been working on the Harts of western NJ, and was also under the impression that the Campbell County William was a son of Sarah[4] and Robert: until I learned differently. I believe (my memory may be faulty) that he was a son of a Robert Akers of the VA Tidewater area: I know of no relationship between the two Roberts. And; beware the two above-mentioned Gennys: they are rather riddled with mistakes--I have a copy of both. Be sure to "Verify, Verify, Verify" whatever material you use from either. Sincerely, Alice Smith
