Tolbert Akers did marry Mary Sturgeon Hall, but Tolbert was not the father of Hiram, according to the stories I've heard from different sources over the years. Mary left Virginia with her young son and married Tolbert later. He adopted Hiram who took the Akers name. We need a male descendant of Hiram to volunteer for a yDNA test that we can enter into a DNA project to try and find a match and determine his family line. Otherwise we're at a dead end.
