Diana I think that is a good alternative way to view the data. I think it may be easier to add data to the simpler format then change it to the chapters to start making sense out of it. I hope we can get some new raw info on NY added to the list in either format. Thank you for taking the time to arrange it. Craig
ardie Here is what I have copied from the net. Craig Posted by R. Ward on April 05, 1999 at 21:10:50: Looking for info on Rebecca Akers b abt 1834 in Indiana. Would like to know who her parents were. She died 6 Oct 1899 in Washington county Indiana and married Joseph A. Wootan. I checked my Akers family book and the only Jesse I found is as follows: 1 William Akers 1-1 Simon Akers b. d. 1722 1-1-1 Simon Akers b. d. 1749 1-1-1-2 Thomas Akers b. 1733 d. 1834 1-1-1-2-3 Stephen Akers b. 1762 d. 1851 1-1-1-2-3-1 Jesse Akers b.ca 1795 in Jessamine Co. Akers 1-1-1-2-3-1-3 Amanda Akers 1-1-1-2-3-1-4 Jesse Paul Akers Jesse Akers was the eldest son of Stephen and Molly Akers, born about 1795, probably in Jessamine County, Ky (later Shelby Co.) Was in Washington Co. Indiana by 1817, in the 1820 census he is married, no children living next to Stephen Akers. In 1848, he purchased 40 acres in Sec. 13, T. 3N-R2E. In January 1854, the Adm. of Jesse Akers estate, John D. Thompson, sells that same tract of land to Mildred Ann Akers for $125.00 and is signed by the heirs listed above as the children. Hope this helps. Have info on Thomas and the ones before him. Donna, I do not have any information on the siblings of Susannah AKERS beyond what I stated in my previous post to this list. Susannah was buried in Hartman Cemetery next to Simon and Mary. The cemetery is surrounded by a corn field. After Susannah died, James MURDOCK remarried and relocated to Logan County. To be honest with you, the information for your Henry AKERS does not seem to match up very well with Simon, Mary, Susannah, et. al. E.g. the 5 female and 3 male children of Simon and Mary do not relate well with your information. I recommend you continue to look elsewhere. Earl B. Akers, Sr of WA I find nothing positive in your post in relation to posting the correct information. I only here criticism & that is counterproductive. In addition to the names and dates of your Indiana Ancestors, I am also interested in : 1. Migration pattern of your family groups 2. Religion 3. Occupation if known. Thanks!
I am ready to start compiling our Indiana Akers (all spellings) up to 1900! Please indicate county if known and where they migrated from, if known. Only hope it's half as good as the data shared by Craig and Donna!

(adjacent county, east of Hector; Ithaca is in Tompkins Co.), also called the Lake Country. Possibly all that land surrounding the Finger Lakes region was known as the "Lake Country." Interestingly enough, Phebe[6] Hart, daughter of Sarah[5] and Timothy[5] Hart (second cousins) married an Obadiah Akers, and they removed to that same Lake Country, with Timothy[5], Israel[6], Hulda[6] and her husband, and Joseph S.[6] and his wife. DO NOT use this as proof, but as a helpful hint as to what may have been. I made this list in the 1970's & I do not remember my sources tho, at the time, I considered them adequate. I have nothing more & cannot answer questions except on my direct line which is in the Estill Co. group. Donna GROUP III: Madison, Estill, Owsley, Lee, Rockcastle, Clark, & Montgomery Counties.
