    2. Craig, Donna, Arlene, Pat and All, I am proud to announce that I have found my GEORGE WASHINGTON AKERS' family and he is different than everyone elses....So, I have myown Geo. Wash to add to the pool to muddy it up a little. Many of you know how long I have searched for this family. Here it is: Location: Marion Twp. Linn Co., Iowa 1850 Census JANE ACRES (AKERS) 53--b. PA JAMES ACRES " 25 b. PA WILLIAM ACRES " 23 b. PA BENJAMIN F. " 18 b. PA GEO. WASH. ' 12 b.PA EDGAR C. " 10 b. PA HENRY " 7 b. PA CLARK " 5 b. PA ELIZABETH " 19 b. PA LUCRETTA " 21 b. PA Also found in 1850 Census: FRANCIS (AKERS) BIGGER 27 b. PA A total of 10 out of 15 children located....Anyone know where in PA this family lived or has more children to add to it? I believe the father's name to be WILLIAM, but he has passed away by 1850. Thank you all for your input, Diana Akers Knowles

    2. >From looking at your info, I suspect the Edmund I have listed is your Edward, and your George James is the James I have listed, same with your Nancy Ann is probably the Ann I have listed, and we agree on Joseph Frederick. I'll have to go through my papers and get back to you as to whom I received the info I have down. I did have two last names for George Akers' mother Miller and Meredith. Do you have documented evidence as to her last name. I entered both not knowing which was correct. All my info gathered is strictly from input of others over the past year. So, anything is possible. In putting the info together we hope to sort out misinformation and get a clearer picture of who was where in Indiana before they moved on to other states. It appears, for the most part, Indiana was only a stopping off place for Akers before migrating on. Anything that you would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated. P.S. When you go to Hamilton, Butler County Ohio, could you please keep an eye out for my Almon Akers born @1825? to unknown parents???? 3. Ardie~ This is an interesting example of Akers coexisting with Acker as an alternative spelling. I've seen "Ayers" as well as Acres. Oy.

    3. I'm interested in your AKERS/PURCELL connection. My AKERS/BUSH?/PARE/VAUGHAN connection from Barren/Monroe Co, KY had a grandchild that went on to marry a PERSEL from IN. He was an orphan and I have no idea who his parents were. I now believe (thanks to the list) that my KY bunch went into IN, which is where George Washington PERSEL was born about 1842. By chance do you have him in your PERSEL information? Parents are unknown.
