    2. Debbie, I don't have anything on your Aker's but ran into this. Nancy Gearhart married Abraham Boone (his second wife)on 12-31-1806. Abraham's parents moved in 1807 to Montgomery County in the part that became Floyd County. Have more info on this family if it connects. I am also researching Akers/Acors in Virginia and live near Richmond. Maybe we will connect sometime too. Pattie

    3. Richard, I was very pleased to see this EMAIL I grew up with GAIL AKERS and we were the best of friends. We were separated during WWII. Gail went into the Navy and I went into the Air Force We never had a chance to get together after this. I grew up with Gail on Johns Run, Carter Co. KY. After WWII I moved to Decatur, GA (near Atlanta). I return to this area often and both Gail & I have many relatives that live or did live in this section of KY. I return to Carter Co. each 4th of July and we have a family reunion at a park called Carter Caves State park. One of the people that attends is Roxie Sexton and her family. Roxie is Gails sister. One of my hobbies is collecting family history and I was never able to get a connection to Gails family. I did not start my collection until Gail was dead. I even help publish a magazine called ADAMS ADDENDA II. One branch of your family is ADAMS. I would love to exchange some information!!! 3. Pat, I don't know if there's any connection. John Wallace Akers was born 12 Nov 1877 in Montgomery Co., VA and married Mary Elizabeth Matheny on 20 Oct 1897. He had a twin sister, Emma M. Akers. That's all I know, as I don't have the names of his parents. Richard Jennifer Akers wrote: > Richard - My Akers line is from Grayson Co., Hardin Co., KY. 2. Nope, not yet. I will be looking for it. I did expect a lot of overlap, but will enjoy the new information in it I am sure. Catherine

    2. Cathrine: Hope that by now you have a copy of the Bryan-Akers Family by Jesse Bryan. It appears to me upon review that much of the Sheares-Akers info was borrowed from the Bryan-Akers Family. What do you think? I did not realize the overlap until I got a copy of the Sheares-Akers book. Tom Bryan
