Im looking for any info on my great grandfather Pose Akers. I dont know where he was born, but he lived and died in Wise Co., Va. He was born in 1874 and died in 1963. He was married to Elizabeth (Dolly) McLeod. I do know he was part Cherokee indian. His sons and daughters included Hunter, Jack, Verna, Evelyn, Fannie, Martha, and Patsy Akers. People for Floyd county are angry at Carmel Lee Akers for publishing the book without their permission and listing fact and stories about their families which cannot be verified by relatives. The book is possibly worth around $85.00 to $90.00 to me, I do not intend to buy one. The announcement says it includes the families and descendants of these Akers: Solomon, Valentine, Austin, John, Andrew, William, Adam, Moses, Tolbert, Hiram, James, Jacob, Randolph, Joseph, Rhoda and others.
