    2. Looking for any information regarding SAMUEL AKERS and wife CATHERINE WARD. They had a daughter DRUCILLA AKERS who was probably born in Stark Co. or Summit Co., OH in 1835.     3. Hi I am doing research on William and Katherine Akers born Abt. 1645 in England and died February 1701/02 in Esses County, Virginia. He married Katherine in Hunterdon, NJ, born Feb 1657/58 and died around 1702. Does anyone have any info on them prior to 1645 or so, would greatly appreciate any info available.     2. James, my advice is to save your money. I can get past the typo's, incomplete sentences and constant references to his previous book, but he has the line of descent wrong. It's also full of phrases like "...may have lived..." - for $165.00 I didn't want a bunch of "maybes". I commend him for his hard work but feel it was of little value, especially the generations from William I through Valentine - who he has married to a Baskett, which was disproved years ago.     2. I have Carmel's new book and I think it is worth every penny that he is asking. The amount of work that went into this family history is hard to imagine. I highly recommend the book to anyone that has the Akers surname in their backbround.     3. Although I am not related, I saw this obituary in a local weekly newspaper and thought I would post to the list in case another Akers is related. Ken Akers East County Observer (Manatee Co., FL), November 9, 2000, page 22 Chauncey Lee Akers 95, Sarasota, died Oct. 31, 2000. He was born April 13, 1905, in Terre Haute, Ind. and came to Sarasota in 1967 from Peru, Ind. He retired after 41 years as district superintendent with Northern Indiana Public Utilities in Peru. He graduated from Rose Polytech Institute. He was a member of Kiwanis Club and American Red Cross and served for several years on the Sarasota County Public Utilities Advisory Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Durland of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Sally Garrison of Blue Grass, Iowa; a son, Allen L. of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1230 S. Tuttle Ave., Sarasota, FL 34239; or to First United Methodist Church, 104 S. Dear Craig, I cannot answer if they went to the US I am working on my family tree the Shepheards from Norfolk and I have a book called the Prior of Poems handed down thought the family and the births and deaths of Johns Akers children are written in the book. Bess, who became a friend of Queen Elizabeth I, built many mansions in different parts of England.
