    3. Hello Vee & Lois, My Willism Akers died in 1841, Shawneetown, Iliinois. He is first seen in that that county on the 1810 census. When he died in 1841 he had grown children so the families researching him put his birth about 1790. His son, William (my direct ancestor), lists his father's birthplace as Ohio in the 1880 census. Not a lot to go on, but I'm working on it. Arlene Hetchler Arizona __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. 3. Hello Lois & Arlene, I, too, am looking for parents & birthplace of my earliest Akers ancestor, William Akers who was born abt. 1800/1801 in VA or KY. He had two known brothers, John who married Patsy McQuire & Henry who married Delilah Miller. My William married Perdelia Pitman in Clay County, KY in 1824 & had 11 known living children mostly in Estill County, KY area. Their 4th child - 3rd son is my great grandfather, John Jones Akers who married Amanda See in 1853 in Owsley County, KY before moving westward to Putnam & Sullivan counties, MO. Does anyone have any info or connection to this William Akers or either of his brothers? KY - still trying to prove parents. The brothers: 1/William who married Perdelia who are my gg grandparents They had 11 children & I only know what happened to 3 of them inc. my g grandfather John Jones who married Amanda See & moved to MO; 2/Henry who married Delilah Miller & headed west via IL, AR, TX to Fresno, CA; 3/John who married Martha "Patsy" McQuire & stayed in KY area. Dont know who Patsy's parents are but there were quite a few McQuires in Estil Co area. They had 9 children that I know of: William Alburtis born 1817 - wounded in war & never married; Hardin born 1820; Ermine born 1823 married George Samuel Williams in 1848; Emily Jane born 1825 married Decatur Beatty in 1858; John S. (Smith) Akers born 1829; Patsy Jane Akers born 1832 married Milton D. Boone in 1853; James born 1834; Henerson born 1837; Eveline M. born 1839 married Joseph McGuire in 1869. That's all I know of the McQuires (2) in our tree -- Does Eveline M. Akers and/or Joseph McQuire mean anything to you? I am sending copy to Jeff Akers as he may know about this line. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Storm See" <stormsee@worldnet.att.net> To: <EPOLISENA@aol.com> Cc: "VEE --" <vanddave@peoplepc.com> Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2002 9:45 AM Subject: Re: AKERS OF Sullivan CO.MO Dunno will fwd to my AKERS cuz'n Storm ----- Original Message ----- From: <EPOLISENA@aol.com> To: <AKERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2002 7:04 AM Subject: Re: AKERS OF Sullivan CO.MO Now this is getting weird. 2. Storm, There is a person in MO that might have information on your Akers. Just make sure that you put Akers in the subject line. I am not sure if she is on the Akers mailing list.
