No bother. No I don't, but may just start looking into that also. Jack

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.
Hi Robin, I most likely got the information from Henry B. Brackin, Jr., M.D. He has done a lot of research on the Akers and Blackburn family and is very respected in this area. I have seen like information from other Akers researchers. Hope they didn't get the same information from Doctor Brackin. But, I feel it is pretty accurate. But, like any information on our ancestors back 200 years ago, documentation is very hard to come by, especially for us "po folks". Even the census only listed the name of the household. I will send you the children and grandchildren of Adam Akers and Nancy Altizer. Any other help you may need, just ask. I am retired and spend a lot of time doing research on the Akers, Suiter's, Farmer's, Underwood's, Gibson's, Honakers and Martin's. Jack P.S. More to follow, as soon as I can copy and paste.

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. The information I have on "Polly" Blackburn is as follows: Mary "Polly" Blackburn married William E. Akers who was born 5-17-1734 and died 11-21-1836. William E. was the son of William Akers and Susannah Blackburn. Susannah was the daughter of William Blackburn and Elizabeth Tye. Children of William Blackburn and Elizabeth Tye were: John, Lambeth Tye, Richard, Susannah (who married William Akers above) Elizabeth and William. John had a daughter named Elizabeth, who married Blackburn Akers. Jack B. Akers

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. I have also located info saying that Polly was on the siler roll (I believe in N. C. ). According to some people, when William died, Polly joined her Indian servant and relocated to N. C. where she was listed on the Siler roll. The Blackburn family goes way back in early America as given in various publications and in a blackburn genealogy on the web (may still be on the web). Since Blackburn is not an Indian name, she would have needed to change her name to English. There is also some debate as to which William Akers she married. There were at least four William Akers living in that time frame. About six months ago, I had a website giving the lineage of about 5000 members of the Akers family. Earl B. Akers also had an Akers lineage covering another 5000 members of the Akers family. Before he died, we had a debate going concerning William and Polly. Hello, I am trying to find the parent of Adam Akers b. about 1828 in VA - married Nancy Jane Edwards in 1851 in Floyd Co, VA. They didn't stay in VA and moved on to WV. I can't find Adam Akers in any census in 1850 - Nancy I believe is living in a home in Montgomery Co, VA with a Lewis and Susan Duncan (Susan I believe is an Akers) Does anyone out there know anything about these people ???? Daniel and Jane (Akers) Akers (cousins) removed from Bedford County, Pennsylvania, to Monroe County, Ohio, but were not on the Tax Lists of that county in 1816 or 1821, either as resident or non-resident proprietors. Does anyone know of them, and any children they had? Alice Smith

There is some circumstantial evidence that he fathered her children: Andrew signed for several of the kids, when they were married, land deeds, etc. I have recently found one reference to a divorce between Jane Clay and Andrew Akers.
