    1. [AINSWORTH] Re: Ainsworth name means Fearless Courage
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HO.2ADEB/149.208.1 Message Board Post: This post is so wrong............OMG! I'll be back to correct it. You have only half the info and assumed the rest........ Yipes! It sounds as if somebody gave you only one of the stories how Edward arrived here. 1st) Anchor wasn't on the ship 2) the ship may have also crashed much further up the coast. Remember there are 2 stories about the crash, IF IT HAPPENED AT ALL. One and only one of the 4 *family crests* when translated from the latin "COURAGE SANS PEUR" <--that means courage w/o fear or fearless courage. Nobody is sure is how long Anchor actually lived here. He bought some land in 1648 (I think) and had Daniel call for Edward. Whom might have been his nephew. I am dubious of the story on how he swam back to the ship since if it was in that good of shape then other should have survived. Especially if the gun powder made it. Ainsworth is not a trade name and the "WORTH" portion meant he had worth enough to be a land owner. The name I think goes back even earlier to 10! 66 though. I haven't done much research there as of yet.
