Can anyone shed any light of my findings on the 1871 census. While looking for William Dewhurst in 1871 around Over Darwen, I came across William with a new wife Ellen and their famlies. Address in 1871 4 Britten St Over Darwen William age 36 Bookeeper born Preston Ellen age 43 born ? Elizabeth Jane Dewhurst 14, Cornelius Dewhurst 15, Arthur Dewhurst 10, Sarah Ann Ainsworth 9? Alfred Ernest Ainsworth Other Dewhurst children Catherine age 6 and William age 11 (these are the children of William and Margaret Finch) are with their grandparents John and Jane Finch @ Tidwell St Preston. I have a marriage for William and Ellen Ainsworth in 1867 A death for Ellen Ainsworth Dewhurst in 1874 age 49 but the age isn't quite right. Any connection with your Ainsworth's ?
