That story had me very confused and many of the dates didn't seem to jive. I have been stuck for some time now trying to figure out who the parents were of Edward Ainsworth (b. 1652, died March 5, 1740 Woodstock, Connecticut). It sounds like you have some further knowledge of who Daniel and Anchor actually were to Edward. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to find a directly link back to England (someone in Lancashire I am sure).
