The 1814 date probably came by confusing Martha H. with Martha Cole who married Levin (H)Ainsworth Junior. I sure would like to find the other children of Levin and his first wife, name unknown. Those children would have been born between abt. 1785 and abt. 1813. James P. and sister Nancy were born before 1800. I think Joseph MIGHT have been one of the sons. Anybody have Ainsworth boys born in the MS Territory before 1813?

I get up to PA several times a year. Was up in June and going back just for a week Aug 11th. Robin

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HO.2ADEB/296.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Yes, these are the same Ainsworths. Wilson and Nannie have been very difficult to find info on. I have not tried the orphans court in Hollidaysburg yet, but may very soon. Alice's obituary has two siblings surviving her. Maude C. Ainsworth, born about 1876, married Christian Truog and lived in Youngstown, OH. She died 10 November 1963. Charles Ainsworth was born about 1881 and was still living in 1963 when Maude died. According to Nannie's obituary, she was survived by Wilson and 5 children. I will look on Friday again for Wilson's obituary. I believe I have read it, but have never copied it. His death date is 18 August 1898. As you can see this left at least 3 orphans...Alice was married, but the other 2 were not....and possibly children 4 and 5 may have still been living. I live in Harrisburg and have Friday off. I plan to spend a big portion of the morning in the newspaper archives at the state library. I would love to see what you have on both the Burkholder's and the Ainsworth's - especially Daniel and Wilson as they both married people in different parts of my family. I may have some things to add. By the way, I am trying to remember where I found Carmina's real name...it was either on the census, in a newspaper article or on the tombstone. Not sure. Take Care, Steven

Daniel C. Ainsworth was my GGGrandfather he actually had four children, two to his first wife Lavanda Burkholder, they were Carmina (interesting you have her correct first name, she went by Minnie) and Reynolds (my GGrandfather). Then Lavanda died young and Daniel remarried Elizabeth Davis and had two more children one who died as a young child and Nanny who married a Fisher. Lavanda Burkholder Ainsworth is buried in Bellwood, PA with her parents. Daniel and Elizabeth are buried in Altoona with Reynolds, Nanny and many grandchildren. Wilson: he is a mystery, He was born abt 1854. His wife's first name was Nanny. His daughter Alice A. Ainsworth married H.C. Boring in Altoona 17 Feb 1892. I didn't know about the other children of his. Do you have any more info on Wilson such as his date of death, or any info on his parents?? All together their were 11 siblings including Wilson and Daniel. I have some more info on some of them if you are interested. Mostly the boys are giving me a hard time. They are hard to track down. Let me know if you have any info on any of them. I also have a lot more info on Daniel and Lavanda. I have the family Bible that belonged to them. It didn't have a lot of info in it, but had some. I have a lot on the Burkholders.

    2. John A Hansen
    3. Dear All: Now's your chance!! For those who have been waiting for the opportunity to administer this list. I've decided to retire from public life and enjoy my grandchildren and do some traveling with my wife. Here are some guidelines for winning the List Admin title. A: Be Creative in your letter. Humor sells. B: Decision in one week ( next sat July 20 at 5pm PDT) C: Mention if you have any special qualities ( manage the message boards), won genealogy awards etc etc D: I will take a look at the archives to see what posting have been made. So if you've been a flamer then I would forget applying. If you've posted several hundred messages on the surname then you're probably the winner. E: Attempts to bribe ( chocolate, lattes, pies etc) are turned over to Piglet for decision on what the related punishment will be. F: Private Email only. Do not post to the list. Posting to the list will be an automatically disqualifier. Best Regards John A Hansen List Admin pro tem jahansen@qwest.net
